Lots of fun memories and activities throughout spooky season this month! As always, I love reflecting and writing these blogs because it truly allows me to take a step back and reflect on all the great memories that were made.
Lifestyle: Vacation, Friends, & Work
Besties Trip
This month I got to reunite with Stephanie and go on our annual besties trip! This year, we decided to do a long weekend in Austin, Texas and it was both our first times in Austin! The city was so lively and so much fun to explore. It also overlapped with ACL so we decided to check it out on Sunday for Odesza. Not going to lie, going out of the festival was worse than Coachella but the experience was so much fun regardless. Going on our trip made me realize how fast a year truly goes by and I cannot be thankful enough for us to not only have the means to do our vacation together but how strong our friendship has been throughout the years. Austin was truly so much fun but I can confidently say that I would have so much fun in most places when it's shared with Stephanie. We can make a joke out of anything and have such a good talk wherever we are. Vacations together make us forget about our long-distance friendship but I'm always thankful whenever we get to reunite.
Halloweekend
I got to hang out with my friends, Kelsey and Mish all throughout the Halloween weekend. I dressed up as snow white on Friday because I was in my short black hair era (and who knows how long this hair will last) so I thought it was too perfect. I thought it was kind of funny how many people thought that I was Kiki from Kiki's Delivery Service, which I never watched so maybe it's a sign for me to watch it? Then the next day, we all decided to be Sanrio characters and I obviously had to be Cinnamoroll because I truly have an obsession with the character lol. Anyway, the weekend was luckily super chill and not crazy but we had so much fun regardless.
Work
Work has put a lot of Halloween activities throughout the year so it's been a fun little break from the busy schedules. For example, my coworkers and I entered a contest where we had to decorate a box with craft supplies and a mini pumpkin. Although we did not win the contest, it was so much fun and a great bonding time! We also had a Halloween neighborhood decorating contest, which I felt like we went all out for but sadly did not win for that either. No matter what, it was so much fun and I truly think these bonding events bring out more culture during what can be very mundane corporate day-to-day activities.
Lows: Traffic Ticket
This month, I got my first-ever traffic ticket with the red light camera. Life really hits you with something to keep you on your toes but it was a warning sign that I should always be extra cautious when driving. It's going to be a pain to pay for the ticket but it will also be a lesson.
Lessons: Reflection
I recently watched a Tiktok video that sometimes you need to sit back and reflect because your life is exactly what you wished for in the past. It truly made me reflect back, especially as it's getting close to my one year at work and moving out. It's indeed crazy how normal my life is now and how fast I've just adjusted to my life now but it hasn't even been a full year yet! I do remember being excited about this new opportunity for my career and to finally move out post-grad. Now I don't even remember what my life was like before! But, it truly made me feel more grateful, especially in the midst of how busy work has been and how mundane sometimes my everyday feels. I'm so proud of myself for the hard work I've been putting in to be at the point of my life right now. Although I do think there's always room for improvement and growth, I truly am at a place where I would be praying for back in the day. I think it's important to step back and find gratitude in everything.

My Pick of the Month: Cooking for Friends
This month I have been cooking more often and in particular, cooking for friends. I've always enjoyed cooking for friends and remember doing them often in college. However, I don't think I did as much post-grad so doing it more frequently has sparked my love for it again. I find the process of cooking therapeutic and seeing my friends enjoy my food brings me happiness. Can't wait to do more cooking my friends in the future!
This spooky season was definitely one for the books. It makes me sad to say goodbye to this chapter already but I can't wait to see what it's in store for November. I'm thankful for everyone that made this month so much fun and I hope that we can make more memories in November.
Talk to you next month,
-- Jin
